ESI and Esports Charts have released the cybersports viewership report for March 2022, breaking down the most popular esports competitions. The data shows that mobile esports continues to lead the charts, with MPL ID Season 9 being the most-watched event of the month. Although the League of Legends tournaments slightly falls behind, the LOL esports ecosystem remains extremely popular. The Mobile Legend: Bang Bang’s Mobile Professional League in Indonesia (MPL ID) continues to gain momentum, becoming the top-ranked esports competition for the second time in a row. Moreover, it is the most popular cybersports event of the year so far, leaving behind such prominent events, as:

Intel Extreme Masters XVI – 1.2m peak viewers;
PUBG Mobile Global Championship Finals – 646.63k;
Six Invitational 2022 – 272.71k.

The ninth season of the MPL tournament will continue in April, possibly attracting even more viewers. Another mobile event – MPL Philippines – has also been made to the top-five list.

Despite a little setback, League of Legend events has ranked second and third in the viewership charts. The top figures of LOL’s matches, however, were in other months.

The regional esports competitions are also growing in popularity, with the LATAM region taking the most prominent space. All-Spanish Free Fire League LATAM recorded over 461k peak views, finishing fourth in the Esports Charts’ ranking.
